Picking up Open Shifts
Open shifts just got a whole lot easier to manage
Staff can now pick up open shifts directly, and managers have full control over who gets approved — all without creating a cover request first. We also added smarter options for notifying your team when you publish a schedule with open shifts.
- Staff can now view and accept or decline open shifts on their schedule, filtered to their team and location
- Managers can review responses to open shifts, see who's accepted, available, or unavailable, and approve staff directly from the open shift details page
- Approved staff are automatically assigned to the shift and notified via push and/or email based on their shift coverage notification preferences
- When publishing a schedule with open shifts, managers can now choose to: do nothing, notify eligible staff via email, or automatically create cover requests for unassigned shifts
- Managers can also convert an open shift to a cover request at any time from the open shift details page
Note: the changes applies to single shifts only. Staff cannot accept a series of shifts at once.
